Elia Viviani, one of Italy’s top cyclists, will donate copies of his three Olympic medals to his hometown of Oppeano (Verona). The announcement came during a recent celebration organized by his fan club, the local Pro Loco, and Circolo Noi Vallese.

These medals—gold in the Omnium from Rio 2016, bronze from Tokyo 2021, and most recently, silver in the Madison at the Paris 2024 Olympics, which he won alongside Simone Consonni—will be displayed in the town hall as an inspiration for future generations.

The event also served a charity purpose, raising funds for Circolo Noi Vallese, which recently lost a beloved volunteer. Oppeano had planned a ceremony to welcome and thank him after winning gold in the Omnium in Rio in 2016. Due to the pandemic, the event couldn’t take place. With the recent silver medal in the Madison at Paris 2024, the town could finally embrace its champion.
