(by Rocco Fattori Giuliano) A new american forward is coming to strenghten Tezenis-Scaligera’s roster, the city’s baskeball team that plays in the LBA, the higher Italian professional tournament: it’s Justin Simon (6’ 5”, 215 lbs born May 6 1996 from Los Angeles, California ; Colleges: Arizona, St. John’s; High School: Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire) who just finished the season with the Sydney Kings winning the australian tournament. With the aussies, the american forward had an avarage of 10.3 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Out of St. John’s College (NY) in 2019, Simon played in the G-League with the Windy City Bulls, the affiliate team of the Chicago Bulls, he then transfered first in Australia, after he debuted in Europe playing in Germany with Ulm and Ludwigsburg and he then went back to Sydney.
His arrival is scheduled not earlier than next week, the debut could happen against Varese on the 26th of March. As for now, Verona’s team is third last in the standings and is fighting to remain in the top league and not back down in the lower championship.
