The Verona Pride will take place this year with a historic first: the official endorsement of the city of Verona. On Sunday, June 16th, the city centre streets will be adorned with rainbow flags starting at 4:00 PM. The assembly will begin at 3:30 PM at Piazza XVI Ottobre—Piazza Santa Toscana, and the parade, organized by the Verona Pride Committee, will head to Bastione San Bernardino on Circonvallazione Maroncelli 11. The event will end with the Mura Pride Fest, in partnership with the Mura Festival, commencing at 7:30 PM. The evening will include music and food trucks with options for everyone, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Jacopo Buffolo, the Councilor for Equal Opportunities, presents the official programme of Verona Pride 2024. “We have worked intensively with associations over the past two years, organizing numerous activities related to the National Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia. We recently hosted Francesca Vecchioni, emphasizing the importance of inclusive language. This journey continues to grow and integrate with other initiatives promoted by the administration, representing a moment of pride and advocacy for the entire city.”

Also this year, Verona Pride is focusing on accessibility. All speeches during the parade will be translated into Italian Sign Language (LIS), earplugs will be distributed, and quiet zones with no photographers will be established. In addition, Croce Verde rescuers and Verona Pride staff will be present to ensure everyone’s safety and comfort.
