On Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May 2024, the Associazione Giardini Aperti Verona will give the opportunity to get to know 27 gardens and urban spaces within the city , which are normally not accessible to the public, especially in the fascinating districts of Veronetta and Valdonega. Each participant will be given a map and a bracelet that will allow access for both days. Historical and botanical information about the visitable gardens will be available from mobile phones via qr-code or by requesting a guide booklet.
The aim of the event is to make citizens and visitors aware of the theme of green spaces: private gardens, gardens of convents and monasteries and public parks, but also abandoned gardens and uncultivated spaces that could be transformed into gardens. The spaces to be visited are also intended to introduce some of the owners who can tell of their great passion for plants and gardening.
The gardens have regulated access by more than 100 volunteer caretakers available to visitors to provide news and information. The event will be documented by 10 photo-reporters who were selected in the months leading up to the event through a challenge launched on social media. The event will also be held in the event of bad weather.
Contribution of €12 per person. Participants up to the age of 25 pay €6 and children under 13 and disabled persons with an accompanying person are admitted free of charge.
