“Lago di Garda in Love” revs up and gets ready for the variety of novelties that will fill the lakefront towns between February 9 and February 11. This year, Valentine’s Day kicks off early with podcasts that explore the most romantic spots around the lake, a love village, and Princess Sissi’s favorite woodland for snowshoeing. The municipalities of Torri del Benaco, Bardolino, and Lazise will become the three capitals of love. In addition, projects will be launched in Castelnuovo del Garda, Malcesine, and Soave; nevertheless, there will also be plenty of love spots in Ronzone (Trento), Innsbruck (Austria), and Montagnara (Padova).
Bardolino, Torri del Benaco, and Lazise are the capitals of love.
An arts and crafts market with typical local products will be set up in the harbor for the formal ribbon-cutting event, which is scheduled for February 10 at 11:00 a.m. in Torri del Benaco. However, initiatives will start the day prior. Numerous free events with entertainment and live music overlooking the lake will take place at the Bardolino Village tent in Villa Bottagisio’s park. ACI Verona’s Giulietta&Romeo Cup, the opening round of the Italian Historic Car Regularity Championship, will also be held in the lakeside town. Up to 130 models are expected to compete this year.
Also, Bardolino will be the starting point for a romantic walk that leads to Garda (4 kilometers) or Lazise (5 kilometers) with the help of special signs. On the other side, the 13-kilometer circular hiking route from Lazise will begin on Sunday, February 10, at 11 a.m., with a lunch break. Then, Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Lazise will host a number of singers and bands, such as Joe DiBrutto, LaSiFa Band, Manuel Malò Band, and Disco Stajare.
From the Malcesine cable car to snowshoeing in Ronzone with Lago di Garda in Love
The Kiss at High Altitude on the Summit of Monte Baldo is one of the most romantic moments, and Malcesine offers a spectacular panorama of Lake Garda at 1,800 meters above sea level. The “Snowshoe Walk in Love” in Ronzone, which begins Sunday, February 11, at 10:30 a.m. from Regole di Malosco, is a new option this year for those who prefer more physical activities. The non-competitive stroll will happen on the same wood routes that Princess Sissi used when she visited Villa Imperiale.
