Also Verona will be coloured green for three days to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! From Friday to Sunday, the Campagna Amica market in the Galleria Filippini (within walking distance of the centre, more information HERE) will be the centre of the city’s activities. There will be live music, food stalls, sporting events (with live TV coverage) and even a mix of local produce and traditional Irish cuisine. Organised by Box Office and Applausi, this is the fifth edition of the event, which has found a new home in the Filippini area.
On Sunday at 14.30 there will be a thematic conference and a tribute to one of the world’s most famous bands, U2, who are celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. But that’s not all, there will be three days of non-stop music with Anima Folk Quartet (Friday 21:30), the Patricks (Saturday 17:00), Trì (Saturday 21:30) and the Willos’ (Sunday 17:00). Sports fans can watch the Sei Nazione games on Saturday, with Scotland vs. Italy, France vs. Wales and Ireland vs. England. There will also be a traditional Irish dance workshop by the Gens D’Ys on Sunday at 3.30pm.
For families, on Sunday from 10 am to 12 pm and from 3 pm to 5 pm, there will be a fun treasure hunt organised by the Canoa Club Verona. And for the gourmets, on Saturday and Sunday there will be a brunch with eggs, bacon, sausages and vegetables from the Verona area, and all the dishes will be prepared with local ingredients, with a focus on traditional Irish recipes such as Guinness stew.
So come and join the festivities. Let the city of Verona immerse you in the world of Irish culture and cuisine for three unforgettable days!
