The world’s longest postal stamp is coming to Veronafil Fair. It was created by the Kyrgyzstan Republic Post Office and depicts the Chaar-Tash range, the Toguz-Toro tract, and the village of Kazarman. Philately, numismatics, postcards, miniature antiques, prints, and antique books are the focus of the fair. Today marks the opening of the 137th edition, which will remain open until Sunday, December 2, with free admission.
Each year, Veronafiere hosts the largest and most prestigious display in Italy, drawing thousands of collectors and aficionados from throughout the globe. In particular, three anniversaries at Veronafil 2023 will be commemorated by thematic displays. The first marks the centenary of Maria Callas’ birth, and the second refers to the Liceo Scientifico Messedaglia in Verona, which is honoring this year by blowing out 100 candles with some of the student artwork. Last but not least, a collection of Sardinian-Italian postmarks from Brescia spanning from 1859 to 1866 will be on exhibit. This collection won the finest collection on display at Bergamfil last year.
Two new postcards from the Republic of San Marino and Poste Italiane, which will have their own stands, will also be displayed at Veronafil. The postcards and accessible folders commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Associazione Filatelica Numismatica Scaligera will be located in a designated section of the Secretariat.
