A European group and an Argentine composer will be performing in Verona as part of the 2023–2024 Fucina Machiavelli season, which began with an Iranian author. The season’s central theme is “Equal and Dis*equal,” or the need for empathy centered on “if I were,” as it is presented in the two seasons, musical and theatrical. The monthly family activities at the Fucina dei Piccoli are also back.
The theater season at Fucina Machiavelli
The next performance in the L’altro teatro/City festival will take place on October 24 after Red Rabbit, White Rabbit, the play by Iranian playwright Nassim Soleimanpour presented by Giulia Cailotto, made its debut. The Camploy Theater will present Woodstock Rewind, an evening of rock music and environmental activism, beginning at 8:45 p.m.
There are a total of nine appointments, including Teatro Clandestino, a blind date with theater whose location and performance are kept a secret until the very last minute, and Capitalism*, the new show by Generazione Disagio, already scheduled for a double run due to the great success the collective normally enjoys in Verona.
The Fucina dei Piccoli presents five performances. Beginning tomorrow, November 19, at 4:30 p.m., is Huck by Bam! Bam! Theater, a play in which the two minor figures from Huckleberry Finn take on the role of protagonists and narrate the plot. The Cat and the Fox and Celeste’s Fairy Tale, as well as two special events, are also included on the schedule. The first special events will be A Night at the Theater!, a family-friendly evening theater adventure, and The Green Theater and the Enchanted Sleigh, a show-play celebrating Christmas with helpful elves.
The musical season 2023-2024
The “Acoustic Room,” a wooden stage enclosure built to maximize and optimize the sounds inside, will be the main new element of the upcoming season and will debut on October 21 at 6:30 p.m. with Che il diavolo di pizzichi. The piece is a component of the proposals focused on the first half of the year and contained in the Contaminations Festival, three concerts that fuse folk and heavy metal with cultured music.
On the other hand, AperiMozart will explore the life of Mozart in three performances in the spring: Papa Leopold and His Toys, Mozart’s Disordinary Life, and Amadè Superstar. An Hour of Music, under the artistic leadership of the Maffei Quartet, will be the protagonist on Sunday mornings.
