Once again this year in the Municipality of Bussolengo in the province of Verona (20 minutes from the city centre, the same distance from Lake Garda) “Summer at Villa Spinola” has begun: a series of events, including music and shows, that will end on 25 July. Appointments in the evocative setting of the recently restored Venetian villa that welcome culture in many forms: from theatre to cinema, from dance to music to literature, for all ages.
All the events in the programme are free of charge except for the open-air cinema, organised by the La Goccia association, which charges an entrance fee of €5 with free admission for the disabled and under-12s.
The programme includes two evenings of theatre and dance: on 7 July there will be the show against gender violence ‘Una, Dieci, Cento, Mille’ organised by the Margarita Dance Academy, directed by Maria Rita Gandra. On 19 July, Estravagario Teatro will take the stage with “Duparùn”, directed by Alberto Bronzato: a performance freely adapted from “Il Servitore di due padroni” by Carlo Goldoni. The genre of this hilarious show is that of stand-up comedy, the humorous show in which the protagonist interacts with the audience and establishes complicity. On 4 July, space is given to music with the Storyville Jazz Band, which will bring us ‘On the Streets of New Orleans’. The Storyville Jazz Band is considered one of Italy’s most prestigious traditional jazz ensembles. The style tends to be related to the New Orleans of the 1920s, but willingly opens up to the swing of the following decade. On 14 July it will be the turn of ‘Made in Italy’, an overwhelming and engaging concert show produced by Ippogrifo. From the roaring 60s to the brilliant 80s. From the busy 70s to the 90s. Four decades told through anecdotes and songs, facts and misdeeds accompanied by the soundtrack of forty years of Italian music.
