The pilot project to expand Vinitaly 2025 has begun in Jeddah, introducing No-Low Alcohol (NoLo) wines as a new feature of the 57th edition of the international wine and spirits exposition at Veronafiere, which will take place from April 6 to 9. Veronafiere announced it during the “Italian Grapes Reimagined: an Alcohol-Free Tasting Experience” masterclass in Saudi Arabia; the event focused on de-alcoholized wines and zero-alcohol cocktails and was part of Amerigo Vespucci’s promotional trip.
According to Federico Bricolo, President of Veronafiere: “Vinitaly is a crossroads of trends, constantly identifying, monitoring, and analyzing them to enhance services and content for our exhibitors and the industry. With this in mind, NoLo wines will be included in the official program for the first time this year, strengthening Vinitaly’s role in opening new markets and addressing the evolving demands of consumers.”
Adolfo Rebughini, General Director of Veronafiere, added: “This pilot project, which spans from product development to education and dedicated technology, will become a structural component of future editions. The goal is to establish a complementary market to traditional denomination wines, which is experiencing significant global growth, and to enhance Vinitaly’s competitiveness in a rapidly evolving sector.”
For Vinitaly 2025, the No-Low Alcohol wine program will include two key events:
- “Zero Alcohol and Market Expectations” (April 8)
- “Technology 0.0: Production and Innovation in Comparison” (April 9)
These sessions, organized in partnership with the Unione Italiana Vini (UIV) and supported by the UIV-Vinitaly Observatory, will offer insights into the market evolution of this emerging segment.
On the exhibition front, Vinitaly 2025 will feature a dedicated Enoteca for dealcoholized wines, with an exclusive tasting counter. Additionally, NoLo wines will take center stage in the Mixology Pavilion, where they will be showcased in innovative cocktail creations.
