The magical world of ballet will return to Verona in December when Tchaikovsky’s immortal classic, Swan Lake, will grace the stage of the Teatro Filarmonico. From December 15 to 22, this stunning performance will highlight Verona’s cultural calendar, featuring worldwide talents Nicoletta Manni, Timofej Andrijashenko, and Alessandro Macario in the principal roles. The Fondazione Arena production has already generated so much interest that an additional performance has been arranged for December 21 due to sold-out dates.

Swan Lake’s world-class cast and production

Nicoletta Manni and Timofej Andrijashenko, legendary Teatro alla Scala stars and life partners, will play the iconic roles of Odette/Odile (White Swan/Black Swan) and Prince Siegfried, respectively. Alessandro Macario, a famous Teatro San Carlo performer, will play the malevolent sorcerer, Rothbart, with the Arena Ballet Company providing stunning choreography to bring the story to life.

Maestro Vello Pähn, renowned for his work in classical ballet throughout Europe, notably the Opéra de Paris and the Vienna State Opera, will lead the orchestra, and Enrica Pontesilli will present Evgenij Polyakov’s classical choreography, while Michele Olcese crafts the scenery.

The performance lasts 2.5 hours, including an intermission, and will include an extra special performance on New Year’s Eve, December 31, at 7:30 PM, with a surprise cast to be announced soon. Tickets for these highly anticipated events are available through the Fondazione Arena’s official channels.
