ROCO Winery, one of Oregon’s most known and award-winning wineries, has acquired the nearby Marsh Estate, a premium agricultural property in Yamhill-Carlton, part of the renowned Dundee Hills wine area.

ROCO Winery was founded in 2003 by Rollin Soles and Corby Stonebraker-Soles, and it was acquired in January 2022 by Santa Margherita USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo, based in Venice. Today, ROCO Winery is a prominent producer of exceptional sparkling wines, quality Chardonnay white wines, and beautiful Pinot Noir reds.

ROCO’s wines have always received high appreciation from consumers and critics, with over 100 top 90/100 ratings from renowned publications in the last decade. Most significantly, ROCO’s “RMS Brut Delayed Disgorgement” 2013 ranked first on Wine Enthusiast’s distinguished list of the 100 Best Wines of 2024, establishing ROCO Winery and the Willamette Valley as global leaders in sparkling wine production.

The acquisition of Marsh Estate is a strategic move demonstrating ROCO’s desire to grow. The site spans over 21 hectares in the center of Yamhill-Carlton and has enormous development potential. Marsh Estate, located 103 meters above sea level, offers magnificent views of the surrounding Dundee Hills and Savannah Ridge. The estate has already been approved under the LIVE program (Low Input Viticulture and Enology), which ensures sustainable viticulture practices in the Pacific Northwest.

“This acquisition reaffirms our belief in the potential of the Willamette Valley and Oregon’s broader winemaking capabilities,” commented Andrea Conzonato, CEO of Santa Margherita Gruppo Vinicolo. “These investments, combined with our expertise, aim to enhance ROCO Winery’s production capacity both qualitatively and quantitatively, with ambitious goals for business expansion. Market trends are highly encouraging, particularly for sparkling wines and Pinot Noir, which align perfectly with the tastes of new consumers.”
