Model Expo Italy

Highlights in Static Modeling

One of the centerpiece exhibits will be a 1:100 scale reproduction of the Andrea Doria, depicting the Italian ocean liner’s sinking maneuver. This detailed model, crafted by the Associazione Modellismo&Storia of Pontassieve, Florence, will be accompanied by archival footage chronicling the ship’s history from launch to its tragic demise. Additionally, tram dioramas will showcase the urban evolution of major European cities, including London, Milan, and Florence, offering visitors a nostalgic journey through time.

Immersive Experiences in Play District

This year’s edition will introduce themed escape rooms and a Horror Village, adding a thrilling, interactive dimension to the Play District area. From solving puzzles in immersive settings to exploring the darker realms of cinema, video games, and literature, visitors will be captivated by Scare Actors and Horror Cosplayers.

The Play District will also host a lasertag arena set in a unique inflatable labyrinth, a first-of-its-kind feature in Italy. Fans of cosplay will be delighted by the presence of the Wasama, life-sized “good robots” who will interact with both children and adults across the exhibition.

Brick Arena and Creativity Village

In the Brick Arena, LEGO® enthusiasts will marvel at intricate constructions, including an 8-meter Viking village, a detailed replica of the baroque Basilica of Santa Croce in Lecce, and the Buonconsiglio Castle.

Meanwhile, the Creativity Village will cater to DIY enthusiasts with workshops and demonstrations ranging from patchwork and crochet to découpage, home décor, jewelry making, and cake design. This hands-on section invites visitors to dive into the world of crafting through interactive sessions hosted by exhibitors and associations.

Comics, K-Pop, and Elettroexpo

Returning to Model Expo Italy is Comics&Science, a project by the Italian National Research Council (CNR), blending comic art with scientific outreach. Fans of K-pop culture can look forward to quizzes, themed panels, and interactive experiences celebrating this global phenomenon.

Model Expo Italy will once again partner with Elettroexpo, the 65th edition of this beloved event for tech enthusiasts and amateur radio operators. Elettroexpo also includes a vintage market featuring collectible toys, antique cameras, and retro accessories, adding an extra layer of nostalgia to the event.
