The Christmas lights illuminate the City of Vicenza. The lighting ceremony of the new illuminations and videomapping took place in Piazza dei Signori, attended by Mayor Giacomo Possamai and Councillor for Major Events Leone Zilio.
For the first time, therefore, the ‘Faber Aura’ sound and light show can be seen on all the architecture in Piazza dei Signori. ‘Faber Aura’ can be admired in Piazza dei Signori every day until 6 January from 5pm to midnight. In addition, a video show with background music will animate the square for eight minutes, every half hour until 11.45 p.m. (from 10.45 p.m. it will be without sound so as not to disturb).
The illuminations also light up the large natural tree in Vicenza’s historic centre, more than 17 metres high, decorated with warm LED lights. Christmas is also illuminated in the other areas of the city with the traditional cascades of lights in Piazza delle Erbe, Corte dei Bissari, Piazza Biade, Piazza Matteotti, Piazza Castello, Piazza San Lorenzo, and Piazzale De Gasperi, and in Piazza Matteotti with a luminous sphere perfect for Christmas selfies. And then the streets, green areas and roundabouts up to the peripheral areas bordering the historic centre.
