On the occasion of the International Day for the Rights of People with Disabilities, Gardaland Resort signed an agreement to join the regional project ‘Turismo Sociale ed Inclusivo’ (Social and Inclusive Tourism) promoted by the Presidency of the Italian Council of Ministers. The project is aimed at people with disabilities and their families, promoting the realities of the territory, building a network among tourist-receptive structures, social and health services, local administrations, third sector, private companies and citizens.
Gardaland, the biggest amusement park in Italy, is committed to implementing a series of concrete measures to further improve the accessibility of the park and guarantee safe experiences for everyone. Amongst these, of particular relevance is the project to implement access to attractions for guests with neuro-functional problems. Thanks to the collaboration with a team specialised in neurodevelopmental disorders, Gardaland will undertake a study to analyse possible impacts on safety during the enjoyment of attractions, developing specific protocols.
The project will culminate in the drafting of a technical document that will define guidelines and protocols of accessibility, offering the necessary information to transparently assess the compatibility of its functional characteristics with the proposed experience. In order to guarantee a greater diffusion of the initiative, Ulss 9 Scaligera will use its institutional channels to inform the population by promoting the accessibility of the structures and activities proposed by Gardaland within the regional project ‘Social and Inclusive Tourism’. ‘Inclusiveness is a fundamental value for Gardaland. Our goal is to offer a magical and accessible experience to all, while guaranteeing the highest safety standards’, declared Sabrina de Carvalho, Ceo Gardaland.
