Verona’s “Capodanno nei Quartieri” project (New Year’s Eve in the Neighborhoods) returns for its third year, offering a unique opportunity for citizens aged 65 and up to celebrate New Year’s Eve in their districts. This year, the program has expanded to include 11 venues throughout the city, with 850 participants who can experience a joyous evening packed with community spirit, entertainment, and excellent meals—all for just €20.

The program began in 2022 and has slowly increased in popularity. What started with 670 participants in its first year grew to 700 in 2023 and will attract 850 people in 2024. The initiative aims to eradicate social isolation and create connections among Verona’s senior citizens by providing an accessible and friendly atmosphere.

Activities and locations

Each event will feature a lot of activities, including multi-course dinners or buffets, live music and dancing, traditional games, movie screenings, and more.

Participating venues are spread across Verona, ensuring accessibility for residents in different districts. Highlights include:

  • Corte Molon, offering dinner and live music
  • Teatro Alcione, featuring a film screening, dinner, and bingo
  • Centro di Comunità di via Velino, hosting dinner, music, and dancing

For those who love folk dances, the Tamzarà Association in Borgo Nuovo will organize a potluck buffet with dancing.
