Forty days of shows, parades, music and games, with typical veronese gastronomy. Everything is ready to celebrate Christmas with a rich programme that will run from today until Monday 6 January 2025. The fulcrum of ‘Christmas on the banks of the Adige’ (‘Natale in riva all’Adige’) will be Piazza degli Alpini in Pescantina, province of Verona, under a heated tensile structure, the only one in the north-west of Verona. Next to it will be a large skating rink that is always open. The ‘Palachristmas’ in Piazza degli Alpini will also be transformed into a gastronomic pavilion with different culinary proposals each week based on typical products: from today until 1 December the protagonist at the table will be polenta; from 5 to 8 December the Baldo truffle; from 12 to 15 December the flavours of Lake Garda; from 17 to 22 December radicchio; and from 23 December to 6 January traditional Veronese dishes. Quality gastronomy will also be at the centre of the New Year’s Eve dinner.

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 December, Piazza San Rocco, on the banks of the Adige River, will also be animated with the setting up of the ‘hand made’ market as well as the inauguration, on Sunday 8 December at 4 p.m. in the Council Chamber, of the exhibition of cribs . Every Wednesday and Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m., children – aged 3 to 10 – will be able to take pony rides, while on Thursdays there will be singing dinners with karaoke. Also at the ‘Palachristmas’ on Thursday, 26 December, the marquee will be transformed into ‘Pescalandia’ with entertainment, workshops, and games for children; at 9 p.m. there will be a bubble show. Amongst the numerous events on the programme, of particular note is the parade of Santa Claus on horseback on 22 December, who will set off at 10 a.m. from Arcè di Pescantina to then reach the San Lorenzo cathedral in Pescantina for the christian blessing. Some twenty associations have been involved in the organisation of the various events, and on some days they will use the tensile structure in Piazza degli Alpini to organise social dinners and Christmas-related activities, dedicated to the disabled, the elderly, as well as families and young people.
