The Leitner Customer Service Global Logistics Centre, a South Tyrolean company and leader in the field of ski lifts, has been built in Oppeano, in the province of Verona, with an investment of 5 million euros. It has a surface area of 21 thousand square metres, a third of which is covered by a shed. It can hold up to 10 thousand pellets and handle up to 180 thousand movements of material per year.
The new Leitner logistics centre in Oppeano sets new technological records. Innovative solutions include an advanced SAP warehouse management system for improved traceability management and automated logistics processes. Instead of handling codes and paper, Zebra scanners and printers are used. From a structural point of view, the new centre in Oppeano – characterised by a very high degree of digitalisation – also meets the highest standards, with a warehouse equipped with high-quality, earthquake-proof shelving for 10.000 pallet spaces.
‘In our Vipiteno site we were too cramped and in Oppeano we found the ideal conditions to open our new storage and goods handling centre, because here we have the connection facilities and the price of land allows us to be competitive’ explained Anton Seeber, president of Hti, the group to which Leitner belongs. The latter has 21 production sites, 108 branches and 138 service centres, with more than 4.650 employees.
The facility, from which materials will depart to almost every continent, was inaugurated a few days ago in the presence of the president of the region, Luca Zaia.
