PATHOS, the Gala D’Oro show that has fascinated audiences for over 30 years, will take the stage in the historic Pavilion 8 of Fieracavalli. This year’s edition, which will run from Thursday, November 7, to Saturday, November 9, will take spectators on an emotional journey via ten engaging performances that honor the strong bond between humans and horses.

Internationally acclaimed performers at Pathos

Jean François Pignon, a prominent French horse trainer known internationally for his liberty work with 13 horses, will headline the event. Pignon, known for his capacity to communicate only through body language and voice, exemplifies the amazing link that may develop between people and horses, enthralling audiences with each perfect interaction.

Another highlight will be the performance of Kintsugi, a tribute to hope, resilience, and rebirth, named after the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. This act features Fieracavalli veterans Gessica Notaro and Rudj Bellini, alongside eight additional riders displaying intricate choreography and precision work with reins.

Then Mirela Paulus, a rising equestrian star from Belgium, will fascinate the audience with a solo violin performance while riding horseback, backed by the Gala dance company. This magnificent performance promises to combine the music’s brilliance with the horse’s elegant harmony.

Fieracavalli will also host Carmelo Saenz Mendoza, from the world of gentle horsemanship, who will demonstrate “doma in dolcezza” (gentle training) and emphasize the beauty of trust and harmony in horse-rider interactions. The Compagnie Jehol has joined the schedule, performing an outstanding exhibition of vaulting and equestrian dance that combines astonishing acrobatics with the loyalty and grace of their Comtois horses.

The Cavalieri Maremmani of Asd Le Doganelle will entertain viewers with their performance of Lavanda, a tribute to Tuscany’s lavender harvest traditions. This heartfelt work remembers the community spirit and celebration that follows the annual harvest and is deeply rooted in Italian heritage.

The grand finale: carousels for all ages

The much-anticipated carousel will close the evening with a dazzling display that promises to enchant both young and old. This year’s “academic” carousel is inspired by Verdi and will be performed by Accademia il Nero Luminoso, while the joyful “Respiro” carousel will feature Rudj Bellini Equestrian Theatre School’s young riders. The evening will close with a military carousel performed by the Montebello Lancers, showcasing precision and pageantry.
