Starting on Thursday, August 1st, street artists in Verona can reserve one of 74 performance spaces across the city. At the same time, residents and tourists can consult a real-time updated performance schedule, see small preview clips of the artists before their performances, and be guided to the performance place using GPS. This initiative is made possible by new legislation that employs the Open Stage platform, free online and downloadable from the App Store or Play Store.

The initiative aims to bring together the people of Verona and tourists through music, theatre, and art performances in over 70 public spaces, including squares, streets, parks, green spaces, and bastions in the historic centre and all city districts. Additionally, the Administration has announced that the area near Porta Nuova Station will host a variety of events.

How to Access the Platform

The 74 authorized performance places are free to reserve using the fully automated “Open Stage” service. Download the “Open Stage” app from the App Store or Play Store, or connect to Open Stage using a PC, iPad, or other device. This page contains a list of the 74 accessible venues and the approved creative activities. Furthermore, the website artistidistrada.comune.verona.it contains all of the required information for those who use Verona’s squares as their stage.

Street Artists

“Street art” encompasses various artistic forms, such as music, drama, visual art, and spontaneous art, performed in public spaces by individuals or groups. The new legislation aims to support and organise these activities by supporting concerts, performances, exhibitions, and festivals. This approach seeks to improve the quality of street performances by focusing on creativity and exploring new ideas.
