It will be the “cammino” (path), the thin red thread that will accompany the Film Festival della Lessinia (FFDL), an international film festival scheduled in Bosco Chiesanuova (Verona) from 23 August to 1 September.

There will be 97 films, from 48 countries around the world, with 31 Italian premieres which will open on 23 August at the Teatro Vittoria and will be preceded, on 22 August, by a special event in the main square of the town, Pedalando per il Pianeta Terra (Pedalling for Planet Earth), where spectators will be called upon, feet on pedals, to produce the electricity necessary for the projection of six short films on environmental themes.

For ten days, the programme on the big screen will be flanked by the literary presentations and meetings of Parole Alte, the calendar of workshops and excursions, exhibitions, concerts, and also food and wine offers with the involvement of local production realities, with a special focus on sustainability issues and a renewed commitment to social issues involving three Prison Houses in the Veneto Region.

Guest of honour at the 30th edition will be director Giorgio Diritti. Writer Paolo Rumiz and singer Gigliola Cinquetti are expected at the Festival (among others), together with over 25 directors.

There are two novelties looking at the film industry: the first edition of FFDLpro, realised with the four Triveneto film commissions, and the presentation of the H.A.D.A.MO. project. (Hub and Digital Audiovisual Archive of the Mountains), which will bring together the over 1.400 works presented by the Festival over three decades of screenings.

The Film Festival della Lessinia is an international film competition exclusively dedicated to life, history and traditions in the mountains. Born in 1995 on the initiative of the Curatorium Cimbricum Veronense as a videographic review on the Veronese highlands, over time it has broadened its interest to include mountains from all over the world.
