It’s almost time for one of the youth sports events that’s highly anticipated to start. Sport Expo, the main event for sports promotion, is returning. Thousands of young people will be welcomed over seven days at many key venues. The 17th edition of the fair will take place as usual at VeronaFiere from Friday, March 15, to Sunday, March 17 . However, there’s also a lot of enthusiasm around Sport Expo and the City this year, which begins as early as Monday, March 11, and brings sports to the whole province of Verona in addition to free trials and programs for children and teens aged three to twenty.
Sport Expo has never been more current; it starts with the conference “La tregua olimpica. Quando lo sport ferma(va?) le guerre.”
Within the current geopolitical scenario, when conflict is the norm, the Verona event centers on the potential of sports to serve as a catalyst for peace and as a component capable of fulfilling diplomatic roles. Monday, March 11, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Camploy Theater is taking place the conference “The Olympic Truce. When sport stops (or stopped) wars”, when the topic of the Olympics, which will conclude precisely in Verona, will also be discussed.
After the meeting, Sport Expo and the City will formally get underway. Veronese sports clubs are hosting open days of uncommon sports at their facilities for five days. From 3 to 6 p.m., anyone can join for free. However, it doesn’t stop there. Additionally, there will be student competitions targeting adolescents from secondary schools from Tuesday, March 12 to Thursday, March 14. Basketball, volleyball, and five-a-side soccer challenges will be the daily sports. The three-day event will conclude with a final celebration and prizes for the regional winners. Alternatively, playgrounds for initiation in various sports disciplines will be available for younger children, ages 3 to 8.
With 60 disciplines available and 140 sports testimonials on display, the fairgrounds’ 60,000 square meters will welcome over 500,000 visitors.
The centerpiece of the event is set to take place throughout the weekend. From Friday, March 15 to Sunday, March 17, Sport Expo will take place at VeronaFiere, giving kids ages 6 to 14 the chance to try out several sports. However, there are also theme activities on the schedule that are associated with a good diet, a proper lifestyle, and—above all—inclusion. Families will have room on Saturday and Sunday, with a complete schedule of programs that alternate between classic sports and more avant-garde ones. Friday is reserved for schools and institutions from the Verona region to attend the event.
