If you want to experience Verona in depth, reserve your weekend from 13 to 15 October 2023 for Hostaria, the biggest wine festival in the streets of Verona’s historic centre, with over 350 different wines to taste. A real citadel for connoisseurs and wine lovers, where some streets will be renamed for the occasion, such as the very popular Via Roma, which will become ‘La via dei rossi di Toscana’ for three days.
Among the novelties of 2023 are the “chicche” (goodies), included in the ticket. In addition to the classic tokens, there will be some special tokens that entitle you to guided tastings with the host, a gastronomic itinerary or gluten-free cicchetti. There will also be “sbecolerie”, tastings of typical Veronese dishes, strictly limited to zero kilometres: from tortellini of Valeggio to pearà, from risotto to arancini with bisi of Colognola. Thanks to a special agreement with ATV, Verona’s public transport company, it is possible to buy a day ticket for the city’s public transport lines, for just one euro more than the price of the ticket, in order to travel sustainably without using a car.
Tickets. Pre-sales are open at www.hostariaverona.com. The classic ticket is available, which entitles the holder to 8 tasting tokens, 2 goodies, a goblet and a pocket, for a total of 18 euros, which becomes 19 if you add the daily urban bus pass. And then the couple’s ticket for 23 euros (again with the possibility of adding urban transport) with two sweets offered by Forno Bonomi. Buying in advance not only saves money but also allows you to skip the queue on event days.
