Enjoy your Collio Experience returns to celebrate the landscapes, flavors and scents of one of the most beautiful territories of Friuli. Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 June, two days between tastings and guided tours to discover the vineyards that draw the hills of the territory.
Villages and vineyards rise among the hills of the Collio territory, in Friuli Venezia-Giulia. It is a border area between Italy and Slovenia, rich in cultural variety, with Slavic, Germanic, and Latin influences, as well as gorgeous landscapes interlaced with Friuli’s vineyards. The event, coordinated by the Consorzio di Tutela Vini Collio and sponsored by Io Sono Fiuli Venezia Giulia, will take place on Saturday, June 17 and Sunday, June 18.
Enjoy your Collio Experience will start Saturday morning at 10:00 with “Essential Scents of Collio” at Castello di Spessa (Via Spessa 1, Capriva del Friuli, GO), a breathtaking location that often hosts the great events related to the world of wine. There will be a tasting of the three Collio Doc wines paired with three essential oils, a journey to discover the worlds of botanical perfumery and viticulture guided by an aromatherapy expert and a sensory analyst in the wine sector.
On Saturday afternoon, starting at 16:00, another tasting: “Senti che vino” – “listen that wine” -, at the Tercic farm (Loc. Bucuie, San Floriano del Collio, GO). The focus is the sense of hearing, which can influence organoleptic perceptions during tastings. During the synesthetic laboratory, the enomaestra Lilliana Savioli, also sommelier, journalist and sensorialist will intervene.
To conclude the day, “Collio Golden Hour” will color the evening of Saturday, June 17 of Borgo Gradis’ciutta (Loc. Gradisciuta 14, San Floriano del Collio, GO), in the beautiful buildings dating back to 1500, entirely surrounded by the hills and vineyards of Friuli.
Sunday, June 18 will be another day full of events starting from 9:00 in the morning when “Enjoy the Bike”, a guided tour by electric bike through the paths and landscapes of the Collio. Intermediate stop at Azienda Livon, in Dolegna del Collio, with wine tasting of three wineries, paired with local gastronomic products.
For those who cannot participate in the tastings on Saturday, on Sunday, starting from 10:00 “listen that wine” will be repeated at the Tenuta di Angoris (Location Angoris 7, Cormòns, GO). Alternatively, always at 10:00 you can also participate in “The neighbor’s vineyard is always the greenest”: a walk through the vineyards in the company of five producers of Collio, that will introduce guests to their interpretation of Friulano Doc Collio in combination with some local products.
And at the end of the weekend, from 16:00 we will move to Tenuta Borgo Conventi (Strada della Colombara 13, Farra d’Isonzo, GO) for “Essential Scents of Collio”.
